The circular glass tops are produced by specialist Italian glass artisans using a hand-painting process in which layers of colour are applied to the glass to create depth, tonal variation, and the characteristic iridescent quality of each finish. Because each top is individually hand-painted, no two pieces are precisely identical — tonal variation within a finish is inherent to the material and production method, not a defect. The hand-painting produces a visual depth that cannot be replicated by standard glass tinting or coating processes: the colour appears to exist within the glass rather than on its surface.
Grouping & Placement
The Dodo's two sizes are explicitly designed with grouping in mind. When Size A and Size B are placed together, their stepped heights (53 cm and 44 cm) and their different diameters (30 cm and 41.5 cm) create a natural visual balance — the taller, narrower A and the wider, lower B complement each other without either piece visually dominating.
