Authentic Polished White Carrara marble — the classic Italian white marble with characteristic fine grey veining on a bright white ground. Polished surface finish maximises the reflectivity of the white ground and the contrast of the grey veining. At 105.00 kg, the marble base is by far the heaviest component of the Scacco — the glass tops (34–52 kg) account for the remainder. The interlocking base design creates multiple interlocked marble sections that form the architectural base pattern; the polished surface means all interlocking faces reflect ambient light, giving the base a jewel-like quality at low lounge viewing angle.
