Description
The Cattelan Italia Dielle Coffee Table is a three-material composition — clear glass top, chrome beam, and a polished White Carrara marble cylindrical foot — in which each material plays a structurally and visually distinct role. The glass top provides the broad horizontal surface; the chrome horizontal beam connects the glass to the marble support and introduces a precise, reflective metallic element at the structural junction; the White Carrara marble cylindrical foot provides the vertical structural support with a naturally veined stone presence that grounds the composition. Available in two formats — Square 120 × 120 × 40h cm and Rectangular 120 × 80 × 40h cm — both versions share identical materials, the same 120 cm length dimension, and the same 40 cm height. The asymmetric, single-leg structural approach — one cylindrical marble foot supporting the glass via a chrome beam rather than four conventional legs — is the defining formal quality of the Dielle: it creates a cantilevered, floating visual character in which the glass appears to project unsupported over one side of the table. Made in Italy by Cattelan Italia.
Key Features
- Three-Material Composition — Glass, Chrome, Marble: Each material in the Dielle has a specific structural and visual role: the clear glass top is the functional horizontal surface; the chrome beam is the structural bridge between glass and marble foot, introducing a metallic reflective element at the precise point where the two primary materials connect; the White Carrara marble cylindrical foot is the sole vertical structural support — its cylindrical form and natural veining provide tactile richness and visual mass at the base of a composition that is otherwise defined by lightness and transparency.
- Asymmetric Single-Leg Structure: The Dielle's structural arrangement — a single cylindrical foot supporting the glass via a chrome beam rather than a conventional four-leg base — creates a deliberately asymmetric, cantilevered visual character. The glass extends beyond the foot on one side, appearing to float unsupported. This structural approach is both the table's most distinctive visual quality and its most architecturally considered design decision.
- Polished White Carrara Marble Foot: White Carrara marble — quarried in Tuscany — with a polished surface that clarifies the stone's characteristic fine grey veining against a white ground. The cylindrical form of the foot is a deliberate contrast to the rectangular geometry of the glass top and the linear chrome beam: the circular cross-section introduces a softer, sculptural element at the base of an otherwise rectilinear composition.
- Two Formats — Square and Rectangular: The Square (120 × 120 cm) is symmetrical and anchors equally from all sides; the Rectangular (120 × 80 cm) is directional and elongated. Both are 40 cm high and 120 cm in their longer dimension — the shared 120 cm length means the chrome beam and marble foot are the same in both formats; only the glass top width changes.
- Low-Lounge Profile — 40 cm: At 40 cm height, Dielle positions the glass surface at a comfortable, conventional coffee table elevation suited to standard lounge seating.
- Made in Italy — Cattelan Italia: Precision-manufactured in Italy with exacting standards applied to the glass, marble, and chrome finishing throughout.

40h cm / 15.7"
The Square format at 120 × 120 cm creates a symmetric composition — the glass extends equally in all directions from the marble foot's position, and the cantilevered floating quality of the design is expressed equally on all four sides. At this format the Dielle reads most powerfully as a sculptural object — the equal proportions in both plan dimensions allow the single-leg structure to be appreciated from all viewing angles without one axis dominating. The Rectangular format at 120 × 80 cm is more directional — the 120 cm length creates a clear primary axis with the 80 cm depth creating a more elongated horizontal plane. The single marble foot and chrome beam are the same in both formats; the rectangular glass top's longer axis emphasises the cantilevered extension of the glass beyond the marble foot more prominently in plan view. Both formats use the same marble foot parcel (24 × 43 × 65 cm, 71.5 kg) — the marble cylinder is identical in both configurations.
Materials & Finishes
The Dielle has a single fixed material combination — Clear Glass top, Chrome beam, and Polished White Carrara marble foot. There are no alternative finish options.
Polished White Carrara
Cylindrical Foot
White Carrara marble — quarried in the Apuan Alps of Tuscany — is characterised by a white-to-pale grey ground with fine, consistent grey veining. The polished surface treatment clarifies and intensifies the veining pattern while creating a reflective stone surface that creates a subtle visual dialogue with the chrome beam above it. At the Dielle's single cylindrical foot, the Carrara's natural veining wraps continuously around the cylindrical form — no two feet will have identical veining patterns, as is inherent to natural stone. The cylindrical geometry of the foot is deliberately non-rectilinear: its circular cross-section introduces a sculptural roundness to the base of a composition whose other elements — the rectangular glass top and linear chrome beam — are entirely rectilinear, creating a considered formal contrast between the stone support and the glass/metal structure it carries.
Materials & Construction
Clear Glass Top
The top surface is tempered clear glass — precision-cut to the dimensions of the selected format (120 × 120 cm or 120 × 80 cm) with chamfered edges at the perimeter. The full transparency of the glass is fundamental to the Dielle's visual character: it prevents the large horizontal surface from creating visual mass and allows the chrome beam and marble foot below to remain fully visible through the top from above, making the structural logic of the table legible from any viewing position.
Chrome Horizontal Beam
The chrome beam is the structural and visual connector between the glass top and the marble foot — it runs horizontally beneath the glass and connects at one end to the marble foot's upper surface and along its length to the underside of the glass. Its chrome finish is mirror-bright, creating a precise reflective line within the composition that differentiates sharply from both the transparency of the glass above and the natural texture of the marble below. The beam's slender cross-section (11 × 6.5 cm in packaging) keeps it visually unobtrusive while performing the full structural load transfer.
Polished White Carrara Marble Foot
The single cylindrical marble foot is the heaviest single component of the Dielle — 71.5 kg in its shipping parcel — and structurally the most critical. Natural White Carrara marble provides both the weight and the material presence needed to visually anchor a composition that is otherwise defined by transparency and reflectivity. The polished surface finish ensures the stone's veining is expressed at maximum clarity, and its cylindrical form creates a deliberate formal contrast with the rectilinear glass and beam geometry above it.
Dimensions
Two formats — Square (120 × 120 × 40h cm) and Rectangular (120 × 80 × 40h cm). Both are 40 cm high. Materials are identical in both formats.
