The Gloster Ambient Cocoon is a rechargeable hanging lantern that combines a soft polypropylene shade with a natural finish teak handle and an integrated LED light unit, creating warm ambient light for terraces, pergolas and outdoor dining areas without visible cabling.

Natural Weathering
Gloster uses only natural finish teak. Left outdoors, teak gradually changes from golden‑brown to a light silvery grey as pigments in the outer surface fade; this weathering process typically takes 6–24 months depending on exposure.
This colour change and the appearance of small end‑grain cracks are normal characteristics of outdoor teak and do not affect structural performance.
Cleaning & Protection
Teak needs only occasional cleaning. Wash once or twice a year with water and a mild detergent or Gloster Teak & Upholstery Cleaner, brushing in the direction of the grain and rinsing thoroughly. Never use a power washer, which can erode the softer surface fibres and leave the wood rough.
On weathered surfaces you can apply Gloster Teak & Upholstery Protector to help repel moisture and reduce food and drink staining; table tops benefit from treatment twice a year (typically spring and autumn).
To maintain the fresh, brown colour, new teak can be sealed with Gloster Teak Sealer once a year, with Teak Protector applied on top. Teak should not be painted, varnished or oiled for outdoor use – extra oil can trap dirt and promote mildew, turning the surface black and requiring aggressive sanding to correct.

2026 Warranty Terms
Gloster warrants its outdoor furniture, including Ambient Cocoon, to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship under its intended reasonable use from the date of delivery. The warranty is non‑transferable and valid only when the product has been correctly maintained according to Gloster’s care instructions.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, changes in appearance due to weathering, small cracks in teak, or damage such as dents, scratches and tears caused during everyday use. Wheels and footcaps are covered for one year; no warranty claims are accepted for products or components more than five years old.
Reporting Issues & Returns
To report a possible warranty issue, Gloster asks for clear photos of the problem (overview and close‑ups), the product code, batch number and country of origin from the silver label, proof of purchase, installation location (e.g. coastal, inland, near a pool) and a brief description of how the damage occurred, all supplied in a single email.
Written authorisation must be obtained before returning any product; returns without prior approval will be refused. Returned items are inspected by Gloster’s Quality Control team and repaired or replaced if a manufacturing defect is confirmed. Returned goods must be in their original packaging.
