Description

The Gloster RAW Dining Table – Meteor Frame is a statement raw teak dining table with a powder coated aluminium base in Meteor and a 50 mm thick solid teak top. Available with either a sap wood edge profile or a contour cut edge and a choice of natural or buffed teak finish, RAW celebrates the natural character of wide plank teak while pairing it with a strong, industrial‑inspired frame.

Key Features

  • Meteor Aluminium Frame: All RAW tables use a Meteor colour powder coated aluminium frame, giving a dark, graphic base that contrasts with the warm teak top.
  • 50 mm Thick RAW Teak Top: Extra‑thick solid teak planks with visible checks, splits and grain variation emphasise the natural origin of the timber.
  • Two Teak Finishes: Choose between Natural Teak finish or Buffed Teak finish, depending on whether you prefer a more matte or slightly burnished appearance.
  • Two Edge Profiles: Select either Sap Wood Edge, retaining some lighter sap wood at the outer edge, or Contour Cut Edge, where the edge is sculpted for a more refined outline.
  • Large‑Scale Dining: RAW tables are offered in generous lengths (e.g. 280 or 350 cm) with seating capacities of 10–12, ideal for dramatic outdoor dining statements.

Finish logic: every RAW table has a Meteor frame and a solid teak top. You simply choose Natural Teak or Buffed Teak finish for the top, and then select either a Sap Wood Edge (retaining lighter sap wood at the outer edge) or a Contour Cut Edge (more sculpted and uniform). Tables with a sap wood edge profile are recommended only for indoor or very well‑protected locations because the exposed sap wood is more sensitive to the elements.

Materials & Construction

Meteor Powder Coated Aluminium Frame

Lightweight but Strong: Aluminium offers an excellent strength‑to‑weight ratio and natural corrosion resistance, making it ideal for substantial outdoor tables.

Durable Powder Coat: The Meteor frame finish is applied as an electro‑statically charged polyester powder and cured at around 200°C to form a hard, even coating that is knock‑ and scratch‑resistant, moisture‑impervious and easy to clean.

The frames are sanded, cleaned and degreased before receiving a chrome conversion coating, then the powder coat is applied to give full, consistent coverage of the aluminium surface.

RAW Teak Table Top

50 mm Thick Teak Planks: The RAW top is made from 50 mm thick raw teak boards, with natural checks and splits stabilised by brass “butterfly” inserts to prevent them from opening further into the timber.

Natural & Buffed Finishes: In Natural Teak finish the surface is finely sanded; Buffed Teak finish is sanded and then buffed so the natural teak oils are brought to the surface, creating an ultra‑smooth, slightly glossy look. Buffing is cosmetic and will gradually fade as the table weathers or is cleaned.

Edge Profiles: Sap Wood Edge retains the natural lighter sap wood band along the table edge, giving stronger colour contrast, while Contour Cut Edge is shaped to a smoother, more uniform profile with mostly heartwood visible.

Protective Covers & Care

Gloster Protective Covers

Tailored Weathermax Covers: RAW tables are supplied with or can be paired with a dedicated Gloster protective cover made from Weathermax – a heavy‑duty 100% solution‑dyed polyester that balances UV resistance, water resistance, breathability and durability.

Fit & Fixing: Each cover is tailored to the table’s dimensions and secured with strap‑and‑clip connectors or ties to resist wind, helping to keep off dirt, bird droppings, leaves and general pollution when the table is not in use.

Because the fabric is breathable, small amounts of moisture may penetrate if water is allowed to sit on horizontal surfaces; remove standing water from the cover and ensure the table and any cushions are completely dry before long‑term covering.

Teak & Aluminium Maintenance

Teak Care: Allow teak to weather naturally from golden‑brown to soft silver‑grey and clean once or twice a year with water and mild detergent or Gloster Teak & Upholstery Cleaner. Occasional light sanding can remove raised grain; never use a pressure washer as it will roughen the surface.

Teak Protection Products: Over weathered teak you can apply Gloster Teak & Upholstery Protector once a year (twice yearly for table tops) to help repel moisture and resist food and drink stains. To maintain the fresh‑teak colour, seal new tables with Gloster Teak Sealer once a year before adding protector.

What to Avoid: Do not paint or varnish teak and do not use teak oil or other wood oils for outdoor use – extra oil can encourage mildew growth, turning the teak black and requiring aggressive sanding to correct.

Cleaning Powder Coated Aluminium: Wash Meteor frames with water and a mild liquid detergent using a soft sponge or microfibre cloth, then dry to avoid water spots. Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool or Scotchbrite pads, which can mark the powder coat.

Warranty & Returns Overview

2026 Gloster Warranty

Coverage: Gloster warrants its outdoor furniture to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship under normal, reasonable use from the date of delivery, provided maintenance follows Gloster’s aftercare instructions.

Exclusions: Normal wear and tear, small end‑grain cracks, natural weathering changes in teak, dents, scratches, and accidental damage are not covered. Wheels and footcaps are covered for 1 year; sling/strap/rope warranties cover tearing and abnormal discolouration but not normal sagging.

No warranty claims are accepted for products or components more than 5 years old; statutory rights are not affected.

Complaints & Returns Process

Reporting: For warranty issues Gloster requires photos of the problem, product code, batch number and country of origin (from the silver label), proof of purchase, location of furniture and a brief description of the damage and how it occurred, all in a single email.

Authorisation: Written authorisation is required before returning any product; returns without prior approval will be refused. Returned items are inspected and repaired or replaced if a manufacturing defect is confirmed.

If the issue is not deemed a manufacturer’s defect, the customer and Gloster’s Quality Control Manager will decide on next steps; goods must be returned in original packaging.
