The Cattelan Italia Baldwin Central & Corner Units are the modular interior and corner elements of the Baldwin collection, designed to extend, connect, and turn any Baldwin sofa composition. The Central Unit provides additional inline seating width within any sofa run; the Corner Units introduce a right-angle turn into the composition, enabling L-shaped or U-shaped arrangements of any scale. The Corner Unit 135 cm is available in Left and Right orientation for full compositional flexibility; the Corner Unit 140 cm is a symmetric square corner unit requiring no orientation selection. All units carry the defining Baldwin design language — the deliberate contrast of deep, generous seat volumes against a slim, elegantly proportioned backrest panel. The same Standard Cover and Mix Cover upholstery system as the Baldwin Sofas and Terminal Units applies across all central and corner units, ensuring complete material consistency throughout any Baldwin composition. - Corner Unit 140 cm — Symmetric Square Corner: At 140×140×73h cm with a 40 cm seat height, the Corner Unit 140 cm is a fully symmetric square corner element requiring no orientation selection, suitable for either direction of turn within a Baldwin composition.
- Standard Cover & Mix Cover — Full Upholstery Consistency: Identical cover system to the Baldwin Sofas and Terminal Units: Standard Cover in a single Category A/B/D/F fabric, or Mix Cover combining Cover A fabric with Cover B Soft Leather or Glove Soft Leather. Full material consistency across the entire Baldwin composition is guaranteed.

Central Unit 120 cm (120×101×73h cm) is an inline seating element that adds width to any Baldwin sofa run, connecting seamlessly between any two Baldwin units. Corner Unit 135 cm (135×101×73h cm) is an asymmetric corner element available in Left and Right orientation, enabling L-shaped and U-shaped compositions. Corner Unit 140 cm (140×140×73h cm) is a fully symmetric square corner element requiring no orientation selection. All units share a 73 cm overall height and a 40 cm seat height consistent with all Baldwin sofa units.
Orientation
Corner Unit 135 cm only — available in Left and Right orientation.
Central Unit 120 cm and Corner Unit 140 cm do not require an orientation selection.
Orientation is always described when viewing the sofa from the front (sitting position perspective). Left orientation directs the corner geometry to the left-hand side of the composition. Right orientation directs it to the right-hand side. Please confirm orientation carefully at time of order as this is determined at manufacture.
Cover Configuration
Two cover approaches — Standard Cover and Mix Cover. Identical system to Baldwin Sofas and Terminal Units for full material consistency across the composition.
Each includes further individual fabric options.
Cover B: Soft Leather or Soft Leather Glove (further individual leathers)
Standard Cover applies a single, consistent upholstery material across all elements of the unit. Mix Cover combines Cover A fabric on the primary body with Cover B leather on the designated contrasting element. The cover system is identical to that of the Baldwin Sofas and Terminal & Chaise Units, ensuring complete material continuity throughout any mixed Baldwin composition. Soft Leather is a supple full-grain leather of natural warmth and durability across the full Cattelan Italia colour palette. Soft Leather Glove is the premium grade of exceptional glove-like suppleness. Both create a rich dialogue with the fabric Cover A. The Central Unit 120 cm connects along continuous upholstered junctions on both sides, extending the seating width of any Baldwin sofa run while maintaining the uninterrupted surface continuity central to Baldwin's formal identity. It is designed to sit flush between any two Baldwin units — sofas, terminals, or corner elements — without any visual interruption.
Corner Units — Right-Angle Composition Turns
The Corner Unit 135 cm and Corner Unit 140 cm each provide a structurally resolved right-angle turn within the Baldwin composition, enabling L-shaped and U-shaped sofa arrangements. The asymmetric Corner Unit 135 cm (135×101 cm) provides a directional turn requiring Left or Right orientation; the symmetric Corner Unit 140 cm (140×140 cm) is orientation-free and suits either composition direction.
Consistent Design Language — Full Baldwin Compatibility
All central and corner units share the same 73 cm overall height, 40 cm seat height, and 101 cm standard depth as the Baldwin Sofas and Terminal Units. Packaging Details
Packaging dimensions and weights will be confirmed prior to delivery. All central and corner units are delivered with seat and back cushions separately packaged for protection.
