Description
The Gloster Ambient Mesh Lanterns are sculptural outdoor lights by Henrik Pedersen, pairing natural finish teak and powder coated aluminium frames with woven all-weather wicker shades and solar & mains power rechargeable LED light units. Available in both Small and Tall sizes and in Meteor/Carob and White/Sorrel frame and wicker combinations, Ambient Mesh brings warm, diffused light and a soft woven texture to terraces, balconies and garden lounges.
Key Features
- Two sizes: Ambient Mesh is offered as a Small Lantern (41cm diameter × 65cm height) and a Tall Lantern (51cm diameter × 176cm height), allowing single-piece use or layered groupings.
- Mixed-material frame & shade: Both sizes combine a natural finish teak base detail with a powder coated aluminium frame and a woven all-weather wicker shade in either Carob or Sorrel.
- Solar & mains rechargeable LED: Each lantern features a solar and mains power rechargeable LED light unit with 18 LEDs, 2700K colour temperature and a light output of 100–180 lumens.
- Remote control with 8 settings: A radio frequency remote control offers 8 light output settings and a working distance of up to 35m for flexible ambience control.
- Generous run time: Battery life is approximately 8 hours on the maximum light setting from a full charge.
- Simple accessories: Additional LED light units and additional remote controls are available as accessories for both sizes.

Ambient Mesh Small Lantern
Dimensions & weight: The Small Lantern measures 41cm in diameter and 65cm in height, with a cubic size of 0.11m³ and a weight of approximately 7kg.
Use cases: Ideal for placing beside lounge chairs, on steps, or grouped at different heights with Tall Lanterns to create layered pools of light.

Ambient Mesh Tall Lantern
Dimensions & weight: The Tall Lantern measures 51cm in diameter and 176cm in height, with a cubic size of 0.28m³ and a weight of approximately 11.5kg.
Use cases: Works as a floor-standing feature piece framing dining areas, paths and seating groups, or as a vertical accent behind outdoor sofas.

Lighting & accessories
LED performance
Light engine: Both Small and Tall Ambient Mesh lanterns share the same LED specification: 18 LEDs with a warm 2700K colour temperature, a lumen output of 100–180 lumens, Li-Ion battery and IP64 rating.
Power & control: The LED unit is solar and mains power rechargeable, with adaptor input of 100V–240V DC and adaptor output of 4.2V, and is controlled by a radio-frequency remote with 8 dimming steps and up to 35m range.
Accessories
Additional LED light unit: An additional LED light unit is available as a replacement or spare for both sizes.
Additional remote control: Additional remote controls can be purchased to operate multiple lanterns or to provide a backup remote.
Materials & care
Teak & powder coated aluminium
Teak base: Natural finish teak will gradually weather from golden brown to silver-grey outdoors; Gloster recommends periodic cleaning with suitable teak cleaners and the optional use of teak care products where colour retention is desired.
Powder coated aluminium frame: Powder coated frames should be cleaned gently with water and mild liquid detergent using a soft cloth or sponge, avoiding abrasive cleaners, steel wool and Scotchbrite pads.
Wicker shade
All-weather wicker: Woven all-weather wicker is designed for outdoor use and can be cleaned with a mild detergent solution and soft brush, followed by thorough rinsing to remove cleaning residues.
Warranty
Gloster warrants its outdoor products to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship under normal intended use, subject to correct care and maintenance. The full terms, coverage and exclusions are detailed in the current Europe and Rest of World warranty document.
Dimensions & technical specifications
Ambient Mesh Small Lantern and Tall Lantern share a common light engine and accessories but differ in height, diameter and weight. Both are supplied one per carton and require assembly.
