The Gloster Ambient Nest is a hanging outdoor lantern that wraps a woven all‑weather wicker “nest” around a colour‑matched powder‑coated stainless‑steel frame and solar / mains rechargeable LED light unit, creating a warm pool of light above dining or lounge areas.

Woven Material & Frame
All‑Weather Wicker
The Ambient Nest shade is woven from high‑quality polyethylene (PE) wicker. This material is supple yet strong, tear‑resistant, UV‑stable and fully weather‑resistant.
The coloured wicker is through‑dyed during extrusion so the colour runs all the way through each strand, making it colourfast, hard‑wearing and easy to clean. It is resistant to chlorine, salt water, tanning lotions and oils.
Gloster uses a slightly thicker, textured wicker that is harder to weave but more resistant to tension, tearing and splitting, while giving a more natural appearance.
Stainless‑Steel Structure
The internal structure of Ambient Nest is a fully welded stainless‑steel frame, electro‑statically powder‑coated to match the chosen wicker colour before weaving. Once the wicker is applied, the frame is largely hidden but remains fully protected against corrosion.
The lantern is supplied with a 2.5 m hanging wire for flexible installation over dining tables, coffee tables or seating groups.
Cleaning, Care & Repair
Everyday Cleaning
Clean woven parts with a solution of 1:16 mild detergent to lukewarm water (below 40 °C). Thoroughly soak the wicker with the solution and gently agitate with a soft bristle brush to remove ingrained dirt.
Rinse off all cleaning solution with cold water. A pressure hose on a low setting can be used on wicker, but avoid any teak components as high pressure can erode timber surfaces. Wipe any splashes from metal parts to prevent water marks.
It is important to remove all traces of foam; residues trapped between the weave can attract dirt over time.
Minor Repairs
Light scratch marks or abrasion on the edge of a fibre can often be corrected by briefly and carefully warming the area (for example with a lighter flame held near the surface) and then rubbing along the fibre with stiff cardboard to smooth it. Always practise first on a hidden section, such as the underside of the shade.
If fibres are cut or broken, a skilled weaver can remove the damaged section and integrate a new length of wicker into the pattern so the repair is barely visible.
2026 Warranty, Complaints & Returns
Gloster Warranty
Gloster warrants its outdoor furniture, including Ambient Nest, to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship under intended reasonable use from the date of delivery. The warranty is non‑transferable and only valid when cleaning and maintenance follow Gloster’s aftercare instructions.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, changes in appearance due to weathering, or damage such as dents, scratches, marks and tears in fabrics or fibres during everyday use. Wheels and footcaps are covered for one year. No warranty claims are accepted for products or components over five years old.
Reporting Issues & Returns
For warranty enquiries Gloster requires, in a single email: photos of the issue (overview and close‑ups), the product code, batch number and country of origin from the silver label, proof of purchase, the location of the furniture (coastal, inland, poolside, etc.) and a short description of how the damage occurred.
Written authorisation must be obtained from Gloster before returning any item. Returns without prior approval will be refused. Only manufacturer’s defects are accepted for return; items must be returned in their original packaging and are inspected by Gloster’s Quality Control Manager before repair or replacement is arranged.
