Freeway Modular Bookcase – Cattelan Italia (Design: Giorgio Cattelan, 2020)
The Freeway bookcase is a customizable modular system for wall or ceiling mounting, offering flexibility as an open space room divider or storage feature. Supported by pillars in several adjustable heights, the Freeway system integrates shelves of variable lengths and practical box containers, all in premium materials and finishes. The broad range of size options and high-quality lacquered steel and wood ensure that Freeway adapts beautifully to both compact and expansive living areas.
Pillars and brackets are fabricated in titanium (GFM11) or bronze (GFM18) embossed lacquered steel. Shelves are available in three sizes—60, 90, and 120 cm long, all 29 cm deep and 5 cm thick. Containers (“box”) feature embossed lacquered MDF construction, tempered bronze glass backs (6 mm thick), and doors in tempered mix bronze/black glass (6 mm thick). All finishes are selectable from the Cattelan Italia sample card. The system is intended for luxury indoor use only.
