Freeway Modular Bookcase – Cattelan Italia (Design: Giorgio Cattelan, 2020)
The Freeway system is a versatile and highly customizable modular bookcase, ideal for wall or ceiling installation, including center- and corner-room solutions. Its design consists of vertical pillars, shelves of varying lengths, and modular "box" containers that can be combined to create dynamic, irregular compositions—perfect for room division, wall storage, or open space organization. Fabricated from premium materials and finished in titanium (GFM11) or bronze (GFM18) embossed lacquered steel, Freeway adapts to a wide range of style requirements and room sizes.
Pillars, brackets, and shelves are all crafted in embossed lacquered steel, providing a robust architectural backbone. Optional containers (boxes) are made from embossed lacquered MDF, feature tempered bronze glass backs (6 mm thick), and doors of tempered mix bronze and black varnished glass (6 mm thick). Finishes are selectable via the Cattelan Italia sample card, and the system is intended exclusively for high-end indoor use.

- Shelves in three lengths: 60 cm, 90 cm, or 120 cm (all 19–20.5 cm or 5 cm thick as per type).
- Box containers: 90x35x35 cm or 120x35x35 cm, with MDF body and tempered bronze glass details.
- Finishes: titanium (GFM11), bronze (GFM18) embossed steel, or lacquered wood/bronze glass as per sample card.
