The Gloster Ambient Lantern is a portable LED lantern that combines a natural finish teak frame, softly diffusing polypropylene shade and Meteor‑coloured powder‑coated stainless steel handle to create a simple, sculptural light source for terraces, balconies and indoor–outdoor spaces.

Natural Weathering
Gloster uses only natural finish teak. Left outdoors, teak gradually changes from a golden‑brown tone to a light silvery grey as pigments in the surface layer fade; this process usually takes between 6 months and 2 years, depending on exposure to sun and rain.
This change in colour and the appearance of small end‑grain cracks are normal characteristics of outdoor teak and are not considered faults or covered by warranty.
Cleaning, Sealing & Protection
Teak needs only occasional cleaning: once or twice a year wash with water and mild detergent, or with Gloster Teak & Upholstery Cleaner, using a soft cloth or sponge and rinsing thoroughly. Do not use a power washer, which can erode the softer surface fibres and leave the wood rough.
Weathered teak can be treated with Gloster Teak & Upholstery Protector to help repel moisture and reduce food and drink staining (typically once a year, or twice yearly for horizontal table‑top surfaces). To maintain the original brown colour, new teak can be sealed with Gloster Teak Sealer once a year, with Teak Protector applied over the top.
Because teak is naturally oily, it should not be painted, varnished or oiled for outdoor use. Additional oils can attract dirt and mildew, turning the surface black and requiring aggressive sanding to restore.
Warranty, Complaints & Returns
2026 Warranty Terms
Gloster warrants its outdoor furniture, including Ambient Lantern, to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship under its intended reasonable use from the date of delivery. The warranty is non‑transferable and is valid only if the product has been properly cleaned and maintained in line with Gloster’s aftercare instructions.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or changes in appearance due to usual weathering, such as small cracks in teak end grain or colour change. Damage like dents, scratches, marks or tears to fabrics and fibres from everyday use is excluded. Wheels and footcaps are covered for one year. No warranty claims are accepted for products or components more than five years old.
Reporting Issues & Returns Policy
To report a possible warranty issue, Gloster asks for, in one email: photographs of the problem (overall and close‑ups), the product code, batch number and country of origin from the silver label, proof of purchase, the location of the furniture (coastal, inland, poolside, etc.) and a brief description of how the damage occurred.
Written authorisation must be obtained from Gloster before returning any physical products; items returned without prior approval will be refused. Only manufacturer’s defects are accepted for return. Returned goods are inspected by Gloster’s Quality Control Manager and repaired or replaced when a manufacturing defect is confirmed, and must be sent back in their original packaging.
