The Cattelan Italia Murphy Terminal Units are the end-closing elements of the Murphy modular sofa system — one-arm seating modules that define the left or right terminus of any Murphy sofa composition, providing a finished upholstered arm end to linear, L-shaped, and U-shaped arrangements. Available in three straight configurations (180 cm, 220 cm, 240 cm) and one curved configuration (Curved Terminal Unit 220 cm), all in Left or Right orientation, Terminal Units share the same 115 cm seat depth and 75 cm height as all Murphy Central Units, Corner Units, and Chaise Units. Each unit is supplied with one (180 cm) or two (220 cm, 240 cm, Curved 220 cm) integrated backrest/arm elements as standard. The Curved Terminal Unit 220 cm (220×180 cm) introduces a gently curved front plan geometry at an increased 180 cm overall depth, enabling organic curved sofa terminus configurations. Cover upholstery spans Category A through F fabrics, with optional loose cushions (PW70 — 70×65 cm) or armrest cushions (PW65 — 65×48 cm) upholstered independently. Made in Italy by Cattelan Italia.

Terminal Unit 180 cm (180×115×75h cm) is the compact straight terminal element, supplied with 1 backrest/arm element. Terminal Unit 220 cm (220×115×75h cm) and Terminal Unit 240 cm (240×115×75h cm) are the extended straight terminal elements, each supplied with 2 backrest/arm elements. Curved Terminal Unit 220 cm (220×180×75h cm) is the curved terminal element at 180 cm overall depth, supplied with one 100 cm and one 115 cm backrest/arm element to follow the curved plan geometry. All configurations are available in Left and Right orientation.
Orientation
A standard two-ended Murphy sofa composition requires one Left Terminal Unit at one end and one Right Terminal Unit at the other. For U-shaped or island compositions, two Terminal Units of the same orientation may be used at opposite ends depending on the specific configuration. Please confirm orientation with your composition plan before ordering.
Cover Upholstery
Category A, B, D, and F fabrics — applied to the Terminal Unit body cover. Each category includes multiple individual fabric options.

No Cushion — the Terminal Unit is supplied with its integrated backrest/arm element(s) only. Both cushion sizes are upholstered independently and may be specified in the same or a contrasting fabric to the main Terminal Unit cover.
Optional Cushion Cover Upholstery
The same Category A–F fabric range applies to optional cushion covers — enabling matching or contrasting cushion upholstery within the same composition.

One-Arm End-Closing Module — Terminal Unit Role
The Murphy Terminal Unit is a one-arm seating module that closes either the left or right end of any Murphy sofa composition with a finished, upholstered arm face. Unlike the Central Unit, which is open at both ends, the Terminal Unit has one open end (for connection to an adjacent Murphy module) and one closed, finished arm end. The characteristic Murphy arm profile is defined by the slim 100 cm backrest/arm element supplied with the unit, maintaining the same low-profile silhouette as all Murphy modules throughout the composition.
Curved Terminal Unit 220 cm — Extended Depth and Dual Backrest/Arm
The Curved Terminal Unit 220 cm (220×180×75h cm) is the curved variant of the Murphy terminal range, at 180 cm overall depth — 65 cm deeper than the straight Terminal Units. This extended depth accommodates the curved front plan geometry of the unit, which sweeps outward from the composition end to create a gently arcing terminus. Two backrest/arm elements are supplied: one 100 cm and one 115 cm, following the extended curved depth of the unit. The Curved Terminal Unit is available in Left and Right orientation.
Murphy System Compatibility — Flush Depth Alignment
All straight Murphy Terminal Units share the same 115 cm seat depth as all Murphy Central Units, ensuring front and rear flush alignment throughout any linear or L-shaped Murphy composition. The Curved Terminal Unit 220 cm at 180 cm depth projects beyond the straight unit plane and is designed for use as a standalone curved end element rather than in-line flush connection. All Terminal Unit heights (75 cm) are consistent with all other Murphy modules for continuous surface alignment.
